The Chronicles of Narnia

    The Chronicles of Narnia was written by C. S. Lewis and is a series of seven novels.  It was published in October between 1954 and 1956.  The novels are set in a fictional place of Narnia where animals talk and there are battles between good and bad.  The novel contains a mix of mythology.  The titles were The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew, and The Last Battle.  The first three novels have already become popular films.  For example, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008), and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).  The Magician’s Nephew has also been confirmed to be released in theatres sometime in 2013.  

Fahrenheit 451

    Fahrenheit 451 is a novel written by Ray Bradbury.  Before this novel a shorter version was publish on February 05, 1951 titled The Fireman.  In an interview later on, Bradbury says that many readers still don’t understand what his novel is truly about.  He said that is it and story on how television is destroying people’s interest in reading literature.  In 1966, there was a movie made over the novel directed by Francois Trffaut.

The Lord of the Rings

    The Fellowship of the Ring is  first out of three volume of The Lord of the Rings novel written by author J. R. R. Tolkien.  The Lord of the Rings is composed of six books as well as an introduction, a prologue, and six appendices.  The Fellowship of the Ring was published on July 29, 1954 and covered books one and two.  The second volume is titled Two Towers and was published on November 11, 1954; it covered books three and four.  The last volume was The Return of the King, and contained the last set of books five and six.  This last volume was published on October 20, 1955.
